LSi210 LoRa Sensor Interface

LSi210 supports remote reading over LoRaWAN using standard industrial sensors with 4-20mA or 0-10V output. Two fully independent channels can be configured for analog readings of sensor with either 4-20mA or 0-10V output. Each channel can also be configured as a digital input which can detect open/close switches.

LSi210 powers the sensors with a built-in 24V sensor power supply using two easy to find CR123A batteries. Depending on the sensor readout interval LSi210 can operate fully stand alone on battery for more than 5 years. Optionally LSi210 can also operate on a 6-24V external power supply if available.

Features

Device operations

Sensors for varying applications exists from a large number of suppliers, many sensors are equipped with a standard interface such as a 4-20mA current output or a 0-10V voltage output. LSi210 allows reading the output of such sensors and transmitting the result over a LoRaWAN network, effectively converting these sensors to wireless sensors. Additionally, using the built in power source in LSi210 the sensors can be powered from batteries creating a solution where standard sensors can be deployed in locations without the need for AC mains supply.

LSi210 is working on a periodic schedule called the measurement interval, typically ranging from 15 minutes to 24 hours. At each interval a sensor cycle is performed in which LSi210 wakes up and enables the voltage output at both sensor interface terminals simultaneously. After a short configurable delay, typically in the sub second range, resulting sensors output signals are sampled by LSi210 internal analog to digital converters. Subsequently voltage output is disabled and results are transmitted over a LoRaWAN network. Power source is either two internal CR123A lithium batteries or optionally LSi210 can be powered from an external DC source.

To aid installation test, additional sensors cycles can be triggered either via internal button or using a small magnet on the outside of the enclosure. The button can also be used to enable constant sensor power for up to 4 minutes also to aid installation and sensor configuration. LSi210 is a LoRaWAN class A device supporting operation in EU868 band, measurement interval and other configuration parameters can be changed via LoRa downlink commands.
